Behind The Scenes is a monthly feature that celebrates our blog anniversary and personal anniversary every 5th of the month. You get to know what we have been up to, along with our video games, movies and comic book haul.

What’s up Silvers? Curious to know what we’ve been up to? This is our first Behind The Scenes of 2017, but we’d like to think better late than never! So whatever you find here has to do with both January and February. And let’s March begin.

Highlights of 2017
(so far):

  • We’ve made a life-changing decision together, and we’ll be leaving the UK in the end of the month.

What? But Fenrile just moved!

That’s true, and Fenrile did enjoy cold comics-filled Manchester very much! But there’s a great career opportunity back to him in France where he still has his house…so… Yep, we’ve decided we’ll be moving together to France.

Cup of coffee

  • After having achieved a lot in terms of career during her 5 years in the UK, Nya has left her full time job and the corporate world for good. She’s now working as a full-time freelance designer!

This is a big thing for her, one of the most difficult decisions she had to make, but now that she did she doesn’t regret a bit! It also made sense doing it now since we’re moving to France and leaving the country anyway. Nya has been a busy bee so no wonder the blog feels a bit abandoned lately. Apart from her freelance projects, she also has a side business to provide design services for authors, feel free to check it out.

  • Nya’s trying to practice her French (is she, really? that’s what we will find out…)

je t'aime

  • We’ve been toying with the idea of starting a vlog!

We don’t want to make any promises, but we thought would be fun we’d start vlogging. If you guys have any ideas or topics you’d like to watch, then just drop a comment. If you have a vlog, leave your link in the comments, we’d love to check you out!

Let’s talk about TV and movies

Guess us geeks always have time to watch some stuff (geeky or not).

Cinema wise, we’ve watched movies like Split (which Fenrile has reviewed here and which has sparked a twitter debate) and The Space Between Us.

The Space Between Us
A movie that is ‘too cheesy’ for Fenrile to review

We’ve also started watching new TV shows that we really really want to have time to review, such as Riverdale, Shadowhunters (why not?) and Schitt’s Creek (some comedy time). Highlights go to a very interesting first episode of Urban Myths and several episodes of Black Mirror.

Schitt’s Creek has proven to amuse us more than we thought

A twisted tale based on Archie Comics

We know this might be cheesy, not new, and we might be late to the party, but who cares?

Black Mirror keeps surprising us with every episode

Let’s talk about video games

If you’re following us on instagram you already know we got back to LoL. Yes, it’s still full of flamers as we remember. Yes, we got back to playing it once in a while.

Back to LoL?

Fenrile has been a ‘tiny bit’ addicted to Cities: Skylines. His recent purchases also include Battlefield 1  and TitanFall 2 .

Let’s talk about books and comics

The Odyssey of the Amazons (2017-) #1

We kept collecting the issues of DC Rebirth, as you probably already know, but reading wise we’re falling a bit behind. New in our collection, also the two first issues of Odyssey of the Amazons and Riverdale’s hype made Nya buy a 1000 page mega digest of Archie Comics that will hopefully be read one day.

Lots of new books from Netgalley, and Nya is finally trying to keep up with the reviews she owes (yes guys we’re sorry but the book review submissions are still closed). Expect Queens of Geek to be reviewed next. And here’s the new beautiful book by Neil Gaiman, Norse Mythology.  We were both really curious about it, we’ll let you know what we think once we’ve finished it.

And that pretty sums up what we had to say about our two months. We can’t believe we’ll be going through the whole moving process again.

How has 2017 been treating you all? We’re dying to know!

See you on the other side, Silvers.

  1. All the best to you both in France!
